Margie has been a resident of Mendocino County since 1985. She received a B.S. in Business Administration from Loma Linda University in 1982, graduating magna cum laude and was the recipient of the President’s Award. She went on to receive her MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from the Henry W. Bloch School of Management, University of Missouri, Kansas City, graduating magna cum laude; and in 2019 graduated with honors from, Concord Law School. At Concord Law School, Margarita served as a Judicial Intern under Judge John Behnke, presiding judge for the Superior Court of Mendocino County during 2017. She also interned for Judge Jeanine Nadel, Judge Anne Moorman, and Judge Keith Faulder. She currently is working as a law clerk for Carter Momsen PC specializing in real estate law, estates wills and trusts, and civil litigation. Margie is a member of the Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement.
Margie is fluent in Spanish and English and has volunteered in numerous capacities in the Ukiah Valley area. Margarita has been a member of the Governing Board of Adventist Health, Ukiah Valley Hospital since 2000, is a member of the Northern California Network Regional Board for Adventist Health, and sits on the California Hospital Association Advisory Board for the California Hospital Association.
She is the owner of Salcedo Rice Productions, specializing in music production and entertainment. She also served for 25 years as the Business Manager for a private medical practice specializing in Ophthalmology. During her graduate studies in Kansas City, Margarita worked at Shawnee Mission Medical Center as their Marketing Manager, General Accountant and Management Intern specializing in Marketing and Development in Kansas City, Missouri.
Margie is currently the concertmistress of the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra. This is her thirty-fourth season with the symphony. She has been featured with the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra, Loma Linda University concert series, and numerous other performance venues. She frequently solos with the Ukiah Symphony and chamber groups playing the violin and singing
In January 2009, Margie took a two-month sabbatical from her work and music to donate her kidney to her father who was born with Polycystic Kidney Disease. They have both successfully recovered with God’s help.
She is married to Geoffrey Rice, a local ophthalmologist and has three musically trained, married daughters, Jessica, Patricia and Elizabeth, and a precious grandson, Daniel. She currently resides in Ukiah, California.
