Alexander RichNewsFirm Defends Trust Accounting, Motion for Reconsideration

February 4, 2019

Alexander Rich successfully defended a trust accounting after several beneficiaries questioned the outlay of trust assets to pay for various expenses.

The firm’s client had cared for his ailing mother in the months before her death.  After the mother’s death, the client’s brothers questioned the hiring of caregivers for their mother, as well as payments for renovations to the mother’s house, among other expenses.  The Mendocino County Superior Court judge determined that the hiring of caregivers was a necessary expense, especially in light of the mother’s desire to remain in her own home, and otherwise approved all expenditures included in the client’s accounting.

Mr. Rich also successfully defended a motion for reconsideration brought by the client’s brothers following the trial court’s initial ruling.
